Eating to fill my emptiness never solved anything. It just made me feel even worse and caused me to gain weight. After a while we forget about whatever it was in the first place that we didn’t want to remember, or tried to remember to forget. I may even have forgotten but I’ve carried the scars for so long. I’ve been punishing myself for too long.

Now I don’t know what it was that I felt bad about – and neither does anyone else I guess. But wait - just think about it for a moment. All sorts of people commit crimes of one sort or another, when they are caught they are imprisoned until they’ve served their sentence. After so long, the punishment is over, the crime is spent, they can start again.

I don’t even need to know what ever it was that I’ve been punishing yourself for. All I need to know is that I’ve been punished enough. This has gone on for too long now; it’s time to forgive myself, and start anew. I begin by accepting myself. No one is perfect, but we all do what we believe is best. To forgive myself I have to forgive others whom I feel has wronged me in some way. Harbouring negative thoughts about anyone or anything, only does me harm. So I let go. Forgive. Forgive everyone and everything that needs forgiveness. Let go. It’s time to begin a new cycle of self respect and loving acceptance.
